Nabarangpur,Jan, 09: The Water Panchayat was celebrated by the Uda Jal Sechan (Irrigation) Division in Nabarangpur. The chief guest was Gauri Shankar Majhi, along with other dignitaries including the respected District Council President Matiram Nayak, Municipality Chairperson Kunu Nayak, and Uda Jal Sechan Division Officer Dilip Kumar Das. Officials and junior engineers from all 10 blocks of Nabarangpur district were also present.
During the event, farmers were informed about the government schemes being provided to them. This Water Panchayat was initiated in 2002, and a total of 1,163 Water Panchayats have been formed so far. Irrigation has been provided for cultivation on 23,520 hectares of land.
At Saraswati Shishu Vidyalaya, students participated in various competitions related to the irrigation project, including drawing, speech, and essay writing. First, second, and third prize winners among the students were felicitated by the guests.
On this occasion, farmers from all 10 blocks participated in large numbers.
