Bhubaneswar, Feb, 5: The first phase of the Census in Odisha will begin on April 16 and continue till May 15. During this 30-day period, house listing and enumeration will be carried out.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. In the first phase, houses and household assets will be counted. In the second phase, door-to-door population enumeration will be conducted.
Census officials will be given training for the next three months. One census officer will be appointed for every 200 households, and one supervisor will be assigned for every six officers. Approximately one lakh census officials will be appointed for the exercise.
Each census officer will receive a financial incentive of Rs 25,000. In the first phase, houses will be marked between April 16 and May 15. The second phase of population enumeration will begin in February 2027.
