Bhubaneswar, March, 3: For the upcoming academic year 2026–27, the School Enrollment Festival and Khadi Chhuan ceremony will be celebrated between April 2 and April 5.
As per the instructions issued by the School and Mass Education Department to all District Education Officers, children who will be between 5 and 6 years of age by September 1 will be enrolled in Shishu Vatika (pre-primary). Similarly, children who have completed 6 years of age will be admitted to Class I.
Enrollment will be carried out based on data collected through the Odisha Education Survey (Child Tracking Survey – CTS). The necessary information has been gathered from Anganwadi centers and pre-schools.
The department has directed that special attention be given to ensure enrollment in Shishu Vatika and Class I. The traditional Khadi Chhuan ritual (initiation into learning) will also be conducted for children according to customary practices.
