Bhubaneswar’s Flying Book Club Takes Off

26th November 2024: In a unique first, book lovers from Bhubaneswar participated in India’s inaugural Flying Book Club, a literary adventure that combined air travel with reading. Organized by IndiaOne Air and Walking BookFairs, the event saw passengers traveling from Bhubaneswar to Jeypore in Koraput district while enjoying a silent reading session during the flight.

The flight featured an onboard library with a curated selection of travel books from Speaking Tiger Books, offering a refreshing break from digital devices. On arrival in Jeypore, participants shared their reading experiences, met with Koraput Collector V Keerthi Vasan, and then flew back to Bhubaneswar.

The Flying Book Club is part of Walking BookFairs’ 10th anniversary celebrations, and co-founder Satabdi Mishra announced more exciting events ahead, including a Travel Writing Festival in December. IndiaOne Air’s CEO, Prem Garg, emphasized the timeless joy of physical books, highlighting how the Flying Book Club helps reconnect passengers with the simple pleasure of reading.

This initiative is a delightful way to bring the joy of books back into travel, turning an ordinary flight into a meaningful literary escape.
