Bhubaneswar, 17th Jan: Odisha is currently experiencing a cold wave, with dense fog expected to linger until January 18. While there are no major temperature shifts forecasted for the next few days, a slight drop in temperatures is possible in certain districts.

The coastal regions and interior parts of Odisha may see a decrease of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Cold winds blowing from the northwest could further lower temperatures, especially in the interior areas, leading to colder nights with temperatures dipping below 10°C in some places.

The regional meteorological center has issued a yellow warning for six districts—Sundargarh, Kendujhar, Jharasuguda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi—due to the anticipated dense fog. In these areas, visibility could drop to below 50 meters, and in some places, it may be near zero. Drivers are urged to exercise extra caution, particularly in hilly and accident-prone regions, where visibility will be severely reduced.

The authorities have also advised travelers to be cautious when driving during the night and in foggy conditions to ensure safety on the roads.
