Koraput, Jan, 09:The temperature in Koraput district has been continuously declining. Today, Koraput town recorded the season’s lowest temperature. The minimum temperature in Koraput town was reported to be 4.8 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Semiliguda town recorded 6.3 degrees Celsius.
Not only Koraput and Semiliguda, but other parts of the district are also experiencing similar conditions. Severe cold along with dense fog has begun to disrupt daily life. Due to heavy fog, it has become difficult to step out of homes until around 8 a.m.
In this intense cold, people are covering themselves completely and spending hours sitting near fires to keep warm. After evening hours, the cold is being felt more intensely. Because of the dense fog, visibility beyond 30 meters is not possible.
Vehicular movement is being affected due to the heavy fog. Many buses are also reaching their destinations late. As the fog continues to intensify, a Yellow Alert has been issued for Koraput district for the 27th and 28th.
