First Day Festivities Marked by Impressive Unity March Launch

Nabarangpur, Dec, 04:: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the State Government’s Department of Sports and Youth Services and the district administration organized a grand ceremony. The “Unity March” was inaugurated with school and mass education department minister Nityananda Gand as the chief guest.

Special guests included Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi, MLA of Nabarangpur Gauri Shankar Majhi, and former MP Parshuram Majhi. They participated in the march at the Shaheed Minar in Papadahandi, paying tribute to the martyrs.

Additional attendees included District Collectors Tapan Kumar Khuntia and Rajashwa Biswajit Barman, Chief Development Officer and District Council Officer Biranchi Narayan Darowan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, social worker Kunj Bihari Das, P.E. ITDA Rajiv Sahu, DEO Chhatrapati Sahu, DWO Rabindra Palaka, DIPR R. Manoj Behera, BDOs Kshirachandra Sahu (Nadihandi) and Manoj Panigrahi (Tentulikunti), and BDO Nabarangpur Sunil Khura.

Sports Officer Sushant Nayak, officials from the District Collector’s office, other departmental officers, school and college students, volunteers, SHG women, Anganwadi workers, general public, media representatives, and intellectuals participated in the event. They raised slogans such as “Bande Mataram,” “Jai Bharat Mata,” and “National Unity Zindabad” at RCDP High School playground.

During the march, local cultural groups showcased their martial arts and dance performances. At the program held at RCD High School playground, chief guest Minister Nityananda Gand, MP Balabhadra Majhi, MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, former MP Parshuram Majhi, Additional Collectors Tapan Kumar Khuntia and Biswajit Barman, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, Additional Executive Officer Yadumani Nayak, and social worker Kunj Bihari Das were seated on the main stage.

In his speech, the minister encouraged the youth to follow the ideals and policies of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, serve the nation, and strive for self-reliance and personal development. MP Balabhadra Majhi highlighted the Prime Minister’s vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) and urged people to prioritize the use of domestic products and contribute to the realization of a prosperous India. MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi thanked all participants for supporting the march and encouraged everyone to be inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s ideals.

During the event, the minister administered a pledge for the use of indigenous products and a commitment to a self-reliant India. At the same occasion, winners of high school-level oratory and art competitions were felicitated by the guests. After the formal program, students from various schools presented cultural performances.

District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera conducted the programs at Papadahandi Shaheed Minar and RCD High School. District Culture Officer Ghasia Harijan managed the cultural programs, while District Sports Officer Sushant Nayak supported the successful execution of the events.
