Government Opens 44 New Sub-Registration Offices in 13 Districts

Bhubaneswar, 4th Nov 2025:   Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated new sub-registration or registration offices through a virtual mode in 44 tehsils across 13 districts of the state. The Chief Minister stated that eventually, sub-registration offices will be opened in all tehsils of the state. Access to government services is the right of the people, and the Chief Minister advised the revenue department staff to provide efficient services to citizens with respect and dignity.

The event, held at the Lokseva Bhavan, was attended by Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Revenue Registration Inspector General P. Anvesha Reddy, along with departmental officers and staff. The virtual inauguration was joined by District Collectors, Additional District Collectors, Sub-Collectors, Tehsildars, and Sub-Registrars from the 13 districts.

It is noteworthy that out of 317 tehsils in the state, sub-registration offices had already been opened in 217 tehsils. Of the remaining 100, 44 offices have now been inaugurated, and the remaining 56 are planned to be opened by the end of this year.

During the program, the Chief Minister said that in the last 16 months, his government has introduced several administrative reforms aimed at making governance clean, transparent, and citizen-centric. Currently, the state government provides 433 services across 32 departments online. Recently, a mobile app “e-Registration” was launched for online appointment booking for land registration, where citizens can also access ECs and other essential documents. The goal is to provide services conveniently and efficiently to the public.

Through smart surveillance, all sub-registration offices are monitored via CCTV, ensuring accountability and transparency of staff. The Chief Minister highlighted that this smart surveillance system will help make registration offices corruption-free and impartial. Opening sub-registration offices in all tehsils will provide numerous benefits to the public. He further noted that after the new government took office, under the leadership of the Revenue Minister, the department has become more efficient in delivering services to citizens.
