Malkangiri, 3rd Sept 2025: A joint public grievance hearing was held today at the Padmagiri Gram Panchayat Office under Malkangiri Block. The event was attended by District Collector Somesh Upadhyay and Superintendent of Police Binod Patil, who listened to the grievances of local residents.
A total of 45 complaints were heard during the session, out of which 5 were individual grievances and 40 were collective or community-level complaints.
Key focus areas of the grievances included:
- Ration cards
- Labour cards
- Aadhaar updates
- Forest land rights (Jungle Patta)
- Housing scheme-related issues (PMAY)
To provide immediate redressal, various on-the-spot service camps were organized, offering real-time online services to the beneficiaries.
- Highlights from the camp:
- 36 labourers were issued labour cards.
- 45 new labourers were registered.
- 8 beneficiaries were enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
- 7 individuals were newly registered for ration cards.
- 3 farmers were newly registered.
- 8 Aadhaar cards were updated.
This innovative effort by the District Collector has significantly helped rural residents access government services swiftly and effectively.
