Subarnapur Steps into a New Phase of Development with INR 323 Crore Projects

9th June 2025: Subarnapur district in Odisha is witnessing a major push in infrastructure and public welfare, with the launch of 56 new development projects valued at over ₹323 crore. The projects were unveiled by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi during his recent visit to the district, reflecting the state government’s commitment to balanced regional growth.

The wide-ranging projects include improvements in road connectivity, irrigation facilities, bridge construction, healthcare infrastructure, hostel amenities, and mega lift irrigation systems. These initiatives aim to strengthen essential services and improve living standards for the local population.

In a significant move for water resource management, the Chief Minister also announced the construction of four In-Stream Storage Structures (ISS). These will be built on key river points at Godhaneswar, Khairamal (Birmaharajpur block), Harihar Jore in Ulunda, and Surubali in Birmaharajpur. These structures will help enhance water conservation and irrigation capacity, ensuring better support for agriculture and rural livelihoods.

Chief Minister Majhi highlighted that these projects are part of a broader vision to bring development closer to the people and empower every corner of the state. With these new steps, Subarnapur is poised to become a model for rural transformation and sustainable growth in Odisha.
