Nabarangpur, 13th Oct 2025: The first semifinal match of the Dussehra Cup Football Tournament, organized by the Nabarangpur Town Football Academy, was held at the local college football ground. In a thrilling contest, Umari team from Koraput district defeated Nabarangpur College team by 1-0 to secure their place in the finals.
The tournament saw the presence of several distinguished guests who encouraged the players, including:

- Tarik Hasan Khan (Vice President)
- Manoj Kumar Pattnaik (Joint Secretary)
- Narasingha Tripathi (Vice President, State Bar Association)
- Venkata (President, Vaishya Samaj)
- N. Eshwar Rao (Secretary)
- N. Ganesh (President, Barik Association)
- Ninibabu Tripathi (President, Parivartan Foundation)
- Former footballer Shibashankar Gantayat
- Social worker Kumud Nayak
According to sources, a total of 16 teams from undivided Koraput district participated in the tournament. For the first time, the final match will be held at night, scheduled on Monday, the 22nd.
Tournament coordinator Ashok Patra announced that Sanjay Jena served as the referee for today’s match, while Babuli Khosla and Raila Bhatra were the line referees.
The match was highly competitive, and a large crowd of spectators from nearby areas gathered to witness the exciting game.
