Koraput Hosts Review Meeting on ‘YASHODA’ Scheme Implementation

Jeypore,17th Sept 2025:  The Odisha Government’s “YASHODA” Scheme, aimed at supporting orphaned, single-parented, and neglected children, was officially launched in Koraput district by District Collector Mr. Manoj Satyabhan Mahajan.

During the launch and capacity-building training program, the Collector laid out a roadmap for linking eligible beneficiaries under YASHODA to other supportive initiatives like Education and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. He shared clear guidelines to ensure effective integration of services for the welfare of these vulnerable children.

The event was coordinated by District Social Welfare Officer and District Child Protection Officer, Ms. Jyotsna Padhi.

Mr. Balakrishna Mallik, Child Protection Officer (Non-Institutional Care), provided a detailed overview of the different components of the YASHODA scheme to district officials and CDPOs (Child Development Project Officers).

On this occasion, financial assistance in the form of cheques was distributed by the Collector to selected beneficiaries under the Education Support and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

Several dignitaries and key officials participated in the program, including:

  • Mr. Subrata Sahu, Deputy Collector
  • Dr. N. M. Satapathy, ADPHO (Additional District Public Health Officer)
  • Dr. Debadatta Mallik, DPHO (District Public Health Officer)
  • Deputy Director (Planning)
  • District Education Officer
  • District Skill Development Officer
  • Members of the District Child Welfare Committee
  • Additional District Welfare Officer
  • District Social Security Officer
  • District Labour Officer

Other attendees included all CDPOs, Block Social Security Officers (BSSOs), ICDS Supervisors, District Project Coordinators, Childline representatives, and officials from NGOs like Shobha, Ekta, and WARD.

The program was successfully executed by the District Social Welfare Office and the District Child Protection Unit, with active involvement from all associated officers and stakeholders.
