7th April 2025: Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways is modernizing and redeveloping several railway stations in Northern Odisha to enhance passenger amenities and improve infrastructure. Stations like Kendujhar, Badbil, Jaroli, Baripada, Rairangpur, Betnoti, and Badampahad are being revamped with a focus on modern facilities and better connectivity.
The modernization includes the development of advanced platforms, improved ticketing systems, upgraded waiting areas, and enhanced cleanliness. Kendujhar station, with an investment of ₹10.16 crore, is undergoing significant upgrades, including a new station building and platform enhancements. Badbil station is receiving ₹17.7 crore for improvements, with 31% of the work already completed.
Baripada station, with a budget of ₹15.35 crore, has seen substantial progress, with nearly 80% of the work completed. Jaroli and Betnoti stations are also progressing in various stages of redevelopment.
These upgrades are set to enhance the travel experience and strengthen local economies by improving transportation facilities. The redevelopment projects are expected to be completed by mid-2025, transforming these stations into modern, efficient hubs.
