India’s First Blind Women Archery Competition to Be Held in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, March 6: On the eve of International Women’s Day, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida unveiled the logo for India’s first Blind Women Archery Competition. Scheduled for March 8, the event will take place at the National Career Service Centres for Differently Abled (NCSCDA) in Pokhariput, aiming to foster inclusivity in sports.

Organized by Bullseye, a non-profit focused on inclusive sports, the competition has already registered over 50 visually impaired women. Supported by the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) and the CSCDA, the event seeks to highlight the abilities of visually impaired athletes.

Parida commended the initiative, recognizing its role in showcasing the talent and determination of these athletes. The competition will provide a platform for participants to demonstrate their skills and break barriers in the sports world.
