Nalco Announces Recipients of Prestigious Cultural and Social Awards

Bhubaneswar, 31st May 2025: National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) has announced the winners of its esteemed awards — the Nalco Smiles Award, Nalco Kharavela Awards, and Nalco Kalidas Awards — for the year 2016, recognizing remarkable contributions in the fields of social service and classical arts.

Dr. Sruti Mohapatra, founder of Swabhiman, will receive the Nalco Smiles Award for her exceptional efforts in empowering and rehabilitating children with disabilities. Her unwavering dedication to spreading hope and dignity among the differently-abled has earned her this honor, which includes a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

Renowned Odissi exponent and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Ileana Citaristi has been chosen for the Nalco Kharavela Award for her outstanding contributions to the promotion and preservation of Odissi dance. A revered guru and performer, she will also receive a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh.

In addition, Shri Saswat Ranjan Joshi, a prominent Odissi dancer, will be felicitated with a special Nalco Kharavela Award for his excellence and achievements in the field. He will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

These awards will be presented during Nalco’s 36th Foundation Day celebration on January 7 in Bhubaneswar, honoring the company’s commitment to cultural heritage and social responsibility.
