Bhubaneswar, 16 August 2025: The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, inaugurated the ‘Bharatiyam – Deshatmabodhak Sangeet Utsav 2025’ at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar . The music festival, centred around the theme of Deshatmabodha (national consciousness), is a celebration of India’s patriotic spirit and cultural diversity through music.

Organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations, Bharatiyam brings together artists and musicians from across the state and country to present soulful renditions that inspire unity, pride, and devotion to the nation.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Shri Majhi said:
“Music has the power to awaken deep emotions and unite people beyond boundaries. ‘Bharatiyam’ is a tribute to our cultural heritage and a call to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, especially among the youth. Such initiatives support our collective vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
The evening featured captivating performances showcasing India’s rich musical heritage — from classical and folk traditions to contemporary patriotic compositions. The festival will continue over the coming days, featuring performances, workshops, and cultural dialogues that highlight the role of art in nation-building.
