Koraput, Malkangiri Emerging as Promising Tourism Hubs

Koraput, 15th Sept 2025:  At the Sadbhavana Hall in Koraput, Governor Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati reviewed the implementation of various schemes in Koraput and Malkangiri districts. Later, during a press conference, he shared his experiences from the four-day tour.

He advised that individual and group forest land pattas (titles) should be distributed by the end of the current year. He also instructed that the Jal Jeevan Mission be completed by December 2026.

Regarding the Bharatmala road project, the Governor expressed hope that once completed by March 2026, the distance between Koraput and Visakhapatnam will be significantly reduced, making travel more convenient for people.

He noted that Koraput district holds great potential for industrial development, and encouraged the District Collector to take the lead in facilitating this. The Governor also identified Sitakund in Malkangiri and Deomali in Koraput as major tourism hotspots of the state and said that both districts have bright tourism prospects.

He reviewed the performance of banks in implementing social security schemes, and urged that all entitled beneficiaries be provided with the necessary facilities. He also held discussions with beneficiaries of the MUDRA scheme.

The Governor engaged in discussions with the District Collector, SP, and other departmental officers regarding the effectiveness of various central and state government schemes.
