Kendujhar, 10th Nov 2025: Death can come suddenly. Such an unfortunate incident occurred in the Telkoi area of Kendujhar district when Asha Karmi collapsed on the road while returning home after listening to the Bhāgavata Purāṇa.
The deceased, Manjari Sahu (56), was the wife of Paduka Sahu from Tungurubahal village, under Jagmohanpur Panchayat, Telkoi Police Station jurisdiction. For many months, village gatherings at the village mandap were held for recitation of the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. Manjari had attended the recitation yesterday evening and was fasting for the observance of Mangala Brata.
After the Bhāgavata session ended, while returning home, Manjari suddenly collapsed near the mandap. She was immediately taken to the nearby Palluhada sub-center hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
