Malkangiri, Nov 26: Well-known social worker of the Malkangiri region, Binod Tawari, has extended a helping hand to Brunda Kabasi, a helpless resident of Rengei Pushpalli village under Tarlakota Panchayat of Korukonda block.
On the 6th of this month, a news report was published stating that Brunda was not receiving her pension and ration rice. Even before the administration could step in, Binod personally reached out to Brunda and offered assistance.
Brunda has been bedridden for the last 15 years, and her sister is also differently-abled. Both sisters are orphans and extremely vulnerable. Binod has been supporting Brunda every year. He considers Brunda as his own sister and stands by her through all her joys and sorrows.
It was only after Binod came forward with assistance in the past that the administration took note of Brunda’s condition. She was then provided with pension and PDS rice; however, for the last two months, she has not received her pension again.
Binod celebrates his birthday every year with Brunda, offering her all essential ration items along with financial support. As winter approaches, he has also provided her with blankets and warm clothes.
Not only Brunda, but many helpless, poor, and oppressed people of the district have been receiving continuous support from Binod. For such noble deeds, Binod has been receiving appreciation and good wishes from people across different sections of society.
