Bhubaneswar, Dec, 09: No new Panchayats or Blocks will be formed in the state at present.
Applications for ward recognition of 2,501 villages have been rejected.
5,566 villages have already been granted ward recognition.
Proposals for the remaining 1,177 villages are still under consideration.
From Rayagada, 256 villages
From Malkangiri, 235 villages
From Gajapati, 233 villages
From Ganjam, 200 villages
…applications for recognition as wards have been rejected.
