Kotpad ,Jan, 10: A preparatory meeting was held today at the premises of Maa Sheetala Thakurani Temple in connection with the triennial Ghata Yatra to be organized in the year 2026. The meeting was convened at the invitation of Puja Committee President Mani Prasad Pattnaik.
The meeting was attended by MLA Rupu Bhatra, Chairman of the Debottar Committee and Tahsildar Tyunkal Sethi, and Additional Tahsildar Parshuram Bhatra. The Secretary, Rameshwar Jena, presented a detailed account of the various expenditures incurred during the previous yatra. He also informed that an amount of ₹48,00,000 had been spent on the construction of a Kalyan Mandap within the temple परिसर.
Tapan Mahapatra presented his views on the construction of the Kalyan Mandap and placed the details before the assembled intellectuals and members present at the meeting.
As the previous yatra had been conducted smoothly and efficiently, it was unanimously resolved to reappoint the same old committee to manage the upcoming Ghata Yatra. Committee President Mani Prasad Pattnaik expressed his hope that the forthcoming Ghata Yatra would be conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner with the full cooperation of the people of Kotpad. He also thanked the residents of the Kotpad area for once again expressing confidence in him by not changing the presidency.
MLA Rupu Bhatra announced that he had earlier contributed ₹10 lakh from his MLA fund and proposed to provide another ₹10 lakh. He also assured full cooperation for the upcoming Ghata Yatra.
Debottar Committee Chairman Tyunkal Sethi, after reviewing the complete details of the previous yatra, emphasized that the forthcoming Ghata Yatra should be organized smoothly and peacefully, with the cooperation of all members and the youth.
In today’s preparatory meeting, local residents of the Kotpad area along with committee members were present and shared their opinions and suggestions.

- President: Mani Prasad Pattnaik
- Vice President: Sudhir Mahanti
- Secretary: Rameshwar Jena
- Joint Secretaries: Bapun Mishra and Madhusudan Deban
- Treasurer: Binayak Acharya
Today’s program was conducted by Debendra Baidya, and the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by President Mani Prasad Pattnaik.
