Baipariguda, Feb, 16:The block administration has become active after reports revealed that more than 800 houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana remain incomplete in Baipariguda block. Beneficiaries who have received housing approvals have been directed to begin construction within seven days.
It was found that although several beneficiaries had already withdrawn installment funds meant for house construction, they had not started the work. On Thursday, Baipariguda Block ABDO Nibedita Dandsena, along with PEO Ganesh Biswasray and BPC Pradeep Acharya, visited beneficiaries in Chandrapada, Bodaput, and Baipariguda panchayats and issued notices urging them to begin construction within seven days.
The administration has requested beneficiaries to start and complete construction work immediately after receiving the notice. If construction is not started within the stipulated time, the house sanction will be cancelled and all released funds will be recovered.
Officials also warned that ration cards and other government benefits may be cancelled, and beneficiaries may be excluded from all government assistance schemes. If necessary, police support will be taken to recover the installment amounts already paid.
Many beneficiaries who received work orders during 2020–21 have still not started construction, while some houses remain only partially built.
