MalkangiriMarch, 18: A social harmony meeting was held at the premises of the Balimela Jagannath Temple under Korukonda Block. The meeting took place from around 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and was attended by prominent members and leaders of various communities, tribes, and caste groups from the Korukonda region.
With the support of Shri Manoj Kumar Behera of Balimela, Arun Kumar Patra, Chitta Ranjan Nayak, Vijay Kumar Pradhan, and volunteers of the Malyabantagiri Sechha Seva Ekadhara Samiti, leaders of nearly 70 communities from Malkangiri district were contacted. Among them, respected representatives from 18 communities were present at the meeting.
During the discussion, speakers highlighted the contribution of their respective communities towards the unity and progress of Akhand Bharat and Hindu society. Emphasis was placed on unity through the concept of the five deities (Surya, Agni, Vayu, Jal, and Akash) and on rising above caste, sectarian, and regional differences to follow the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family).
It was also stated that misleading propaganda claiming “we are not Hindus” should not be accepted, especially in the context of the upcoming 2026 Census and related classifications under “other religions.” Participants were urged not to fall prey to such misinformation.
Later, District Sadbhavana Pramukh Shri Shashibhushan Mishra spoke about traditional community growth, self-reliance, the importance of education, women’s education, and maintaining a well-organized family system.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of prasad and prayers for the welfare of the world.
