Timely Help Through Social Media Saves Elderly Man, Administration and Local Residents Step In for Rescue

Jharsuguda ,Mar, 24: : The social media platform of the Jharsuguda district administration is no longer limited to sharing information; it has now become a medium of assistance for people during times of distress.
Yesterday, a concerned citizen, Gangadhar Makar, informed the district administration through a Facebook comment about a helpless elderly man. Acting on the instructions of the District Collector, the information was taken seriously. With the assistance of Kolabira Police and the Social Security Department, the elderly man was rescued from the roadside near Paramānpur village.
The rescued elderly person has been identified as Lelin Sahu (70). He has been safely shifted to an old-age home located at Panchapada.
A health camp is being organized at the old-age home today, where medical check-ups are being conducted for the rescued elderly man as well as other inmates.
