Jeypore, April 04:: The Koraput District Council meeting of the Communist Party of India (CPI) was held under the अध्यक्षता (chairmanship) of Comrade Kumar Jini. District Secretary Comrade Ram Krishna Das presented a report on the work carried out over the past three months. Following this, State Executive Committee member Comrade Pramod Mohanty discussed the resolutions adopted in the recent State Council meeting.
It was proposed that the membership renewal collected this year should be submitted to the state immediately. The meeting also decided that representatives from Koraput district would participate in the state-level convention of the All India Dalit Rights Movement on April 5. From April 1 to April 30, CPI leaders will visit villages and go door-to-door to identify people who have been deprived of various government benefits, prepare a list, and organize agitations at the Gram Panchayat level in May.
CPI State Assistant Secretary Jayant Das briefed the gathering on the current political situation and the role of CPI. Among others, former District Secretary Comrade Yudhishthir Raul, District Assistant Secretaries Dura Chanayak, Kurum Nath Bhatra, Purnachandra Sur, Tirupati Bhatra, Balaram Naik, Madhab Jani, Sunita Nag, Nanda Harijan, and Rupadhar Pujari participated in the discussion on various proposals.
At the beginning of the meeting, tributes were paid in memory of veteran CPI leader R. Nallakannu, Somnath Patra, those killed in the attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, including prominent leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as villagers who lost their lives in the conflict, and the person who died in a fire incident in the ICU of SCB Medical College, Cuttack.
