Bhubaneswar, April 06: At the State-Level Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan Ceremony, the Honorable Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi initiated children into learning by guiding them in the traditional “Khadi Chhuan” ritual.
Across every village and every locality in the state, the beginning of education is being celebrated as a festival. Through this, parents are becoming more encouraged to enroll their children in schools, said the Chief Minister during the State-Level Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan Program 2026.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister visited exhibitions showcasing learning materials developed for children under the ‘Nipun Odisha’ and ‘Padhiba, Gadhhiba Odisha’ initiatives in various schools. He also distributed educational support kits to the children.
Khadi Chhuan is a sacred tradition in Odia culture. To ensure that no child in the state is deprived of education, this festival has been initiated. Efforts are being made so that children develop interest and respect for education instead of fear. The goal is to achieve 100% enrollment.
The Chief Minister further stated that, in accordance with the New Education Policy, Anganwadi centers will gradually be integrated into Shishu Vatika (pre-primary schools). On this occasion, he also flagged off an education awareness chariot.
