Malkangiri, April 22: On Tuesday, the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar was celebrated in Balimela town of Malkangiri district. On this occasion, several distinguished individuals who have contributed to the welfare of the region were honored with certificates of appreciation by the organizing committee.
Among them, social worker Meera Rani Sethi, who has earned widespread appreciation for her dedicated service to the community, was felicitated with a certificate of honour. Meera has been serving as a Nursing Officer at the Balimela Regional Health Centre for the past 12 years and has recently been transferred to the MV-19 Health Centre.
Even after her transfer, Meera has continued to actively serve the people of Balimela and its surrounding areas, remaining widely recognized for her commitment.
In recognition of her selfless service and dedication, the Ambedkar Memorial Committee honoured her on this occasion. The local residents welcomed the committee’s decision to recognize a social worker like Meera.
After receiving the certificate and memento, Meera expressed her happiness and stated that she would continue her social service in the coming days.
The honour was presented to her by NAC Chairman Pradeep Kumar Nayak, Executive Officer Devi Prasad Dora, Ambedkar Memorial Committee President Hadu Hantal, and social worker Dambaru Bagh, among others.
