21st November 2024: A cyclone is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal around the 26th of this month, although it is predicted that Odisha will not be affected. According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure system could develop in the southern Bay of Bengal near Sumatra, intensifying into a cyclone by the 26th. However, the impact on Odisha is unlikely.
The department forecasts light rainfall and mild winds along the coastal areas of Odisha between the 22nd and 24th, with moderate rainfall expected from the 27th to the 29th. While the cyclone is expected to move towards the Tamil Nadu coast, the state will experience only minor weather changes.
