Awareness Programme on Situational Awareness in Daily Life Held in Rayagada Emphasises Personal Safety, Vigilance, and Community Responsibility

Rayagada,May 08:: An awareness programme titled “Stay Alert, Stay Safe – Situational Awareness in Daily Life” was organised by the Shakti Shree Empowerment Cell on Wednesday in the Golden Jubilee Conference Hall of Rayagada College.
The programme was organised under the leadership of College President Sushant Nayak. Rayagada Sub-Divisional Police Officer Gourahari Sahu and social worker Badal were invited as resource persons. They were welcomed by College Principal Dr. Saraswati Ray with flower saplings.
Shakti Shree coordinator Dr. Liza Rani Satapathy delivered the introductory speech and highlighted the objectives and functioning of the Shakti Shree Empowerment Cell, in line with the guidelines of the Higher Education Department.
The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Saraswati Ray. SDO Gourahari Sahu sensitised the participants through a video titled “Kichhi Habaki Na”, and also spoke on various important issues such as POCSO Act, child marriage, sexual harassment at the workplace, good touch and bad touch, and making the right decisions for personal safety in different situations.
Badal focused on knowledge, skills, mindset, and behaviour during his address, emphasising the importance of safety awareness and precautionary measures. He also highlighted avoiding dark and isolated places, supporting each other, being cautious in crowded places such as parties, taking care of food and drinks, and being aware of personal belongings.
Speakers including Dr. Saraswati Ray, Lt. Uday Nayak, Dr. Ajay Raita, and Dr. Liza Rani Satapathy also shared important safety messages related to travel by bus and train, road safety, classroom safety, and various real-life situations.
Faculty members such as Hemant, Sagarika, Abhimanyu, Mirza, and others were present. The programme was successfully conducted with active participation of around 120 participants.
Shakti Shree volunteers including Radharani, Bishnupriya, Geetanjali, Barsha, and their team played a key role in making the programme successful. The event concluded with the message: “Stay Aware – Stay Alert – Take Action.”
