Demand for Proper Identification and Protection of College Land Raised During Kendrapara College Alumni Association Meeting

Kendrapara, May 11:A meeting of the Alumni Association of Kendrapara College was held on Saturday at the mini conference hall of the college. The meeting was chaired by Professor Duryodhan Parida, President of the association, and attended by the Working President as well as Principal of the college, Professor Shantanu Kumar Jena.
Association Secretary Dr. Pramod Kumar Das informed the members about the objectives of the meeting and presented the proceedings of the previous meeting. During the discussion, concerns were raised that certain individuals and government institutions were using land attached to and within the college campus, which was hampering academic activities.
The members demanded that the administration take immediate steps regarding the pending application for identification of the 7.5 acres of land recorded in the name of the college. It was also decided that alumni members would organize lecture series programmes for the academic development of students.
An eleven-member Alumni Coordination Committee was formed to work jointly with the college administration. The meeting also expressed agreement that the assets of the closed B.Ed. College should be transferred to Kendrapara Autonomous College in accordance with the by-laws.
The members further discussed drawing the attention of the local administration and the government to this matter and organizing a joint meeting involving former teachers and staff members. Lecturer Dr. Deepti Ray delivered the vote of thanks.
Among others, Professor Nandakishore Parida, Ajay Samal, Dr. Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Chittaranjan Das, Biswanath Acharya, Dr. Trailokyanath Samal, Dr. Pradipta Kishore Dash, litterateur Dr. Basudev Das, Biswajit Das, Sarat Kumar Singh, Dr. Rashmi Kar, Dr. Prabhakar Mallik, Dr. Ratnamanjari Dash, and Captain Seema Mohanty participated in the discussion.
