The Skill Development & Technical Education Department has initiated preliminary work for the proposed campus, with a site already identified at Mouza Laudigaon under Konisi Tahasil in Ganjam district.

In an official communication issued on June 30, 2026, the department directed the Deputy Director of Skill Development & Employment, Ganjam, to start necessary administrative procedures. This includes preparing and submitting land alienation proposals for transferring government land to the concerned department.

The identification of land marks an important early step in the project and will pave the way for further planning and infrastructure development.

Once established, the proposed campus is expected to enhance vocational training opportunities and strengthen industry-oriented skill development for youth in southern Odisha. It will also support the state’s broader objective of improving employability and expanding access to modern training facilities.

The World Skill Center is a flagship state institution that provides globally benchmarked training programmes aligned with industry needs, helping young professionals build job-ready skills.

Further updates on approvals and project timelines will be issued as the initiative progresses.
