Jagatsinghpur (Odisha), July 31: The flood situation in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district has intensified as rising water levels in the Mahanadi and Devi rivers have affected more than 20 villages across several blocks.
Villages in Kujang, Tirtol, Balikuda, and Naugaon areas have been impacted after floodwaters entered low-lying regions, affecting daily life and movement in several communities.
District authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have stepped up preparedness measures to provide assistance to affected residents. Relief teams are assessing ground conditions, while necessary arrangements are being made to ensure access to essential supplies and emergency support.
The swelling of major rivers has raised concerns over waterlogging, damage to agricultural areas, and disruption of local infrastructure. Officials are keeping a continuous watch on river levels and weather conditions to respond quickly to any further rise in water levels.
Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain alert and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.
