Nabarangpur, Aug 11 [UDN}:The Nabarangpur team has made the district proud with an impressive performance at the State-Level Junior Athletic Meet, winning a total of 11 medals.
The State-Level Junior Athletic Meet, held at the Rairangpur Sports Complex in Mayurbhanj, concluded today. The Nabarangpur team delivered an outstanding performance in the competition, securing 5 Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals, taking their overall medal tally to 11.
A total of 32 athletes from Nabarangpur, comprising 17 girls and 15 boys, participated in the state-level competition. Sapan Bairagi served as the coach of the team, while Durjya Harijan performed the responsibilities of the team manager.
All the athletes from Nabarangpur put up commendable performances. Swayam Siddha Sahu, Kuni Rajgand, Subhadra Pujari, Champa Bhatar, and Pratap Majhi won Gold medals. Gitika Gitamaya and Tulasi Bhatar secured Silver medals, while L. Snigdha, Rutu Pambia, Champa Bhatar, and Swayam Siddha Sahu won Bronze medals.
Following the team’s remarkable achievement, District Sports Association Secretary Prahallad Tripathy, Vice-President M. Balakrishna Rao, Joint Secretary Manoj Kumar Patnaik, Secretary Ashok Nayak, along with other members of the association, congratulated the entire team for their excellent performance.
