Bhubaneswar, August 14, 2026: Adani Ports and SEZ CEO Karan Adani met Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo to discuss opportunities for expanding the Adani Group’s investments in the state’s clean energy sector.
The discussions focused on accelerating the development of pumped storage plants, solar power generation and nuclear energy projects, with an emphasis on strengthening Odisha’s long-term energy security and grid reliability.
The Adani Group reiterated its interest in establishing two power plants of 3,000 MW each in Odisha. The meeting also highlighted the need for reliable, carbon-free baseload power to support the state’s growing industrial and energy requirements.
Senior officials from Odisha’s Energy Department, OPTCL and GRIDCO participated in the discussions. The meeting signals growing interest in large-scale clean energy infrastructure as Odisha seeks to support industrial growth while advancing its sustainability goals.
