Bhubaneswar, Aug 17 [UDN}:The meeting revealed that 210 grid substations are currently operational across Odisha. Of these, 15 new grid substations have been established during the last two years. Similarly, 788.99 circuit kilometres of transmission lines have been laid across the state during the same period.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to ensure quality electricity services in every part of the state by 2030.
It was informed that a 765 kV grid ring system is being established to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply to the people of Odisha and to support the state’s rapid industrialisation.
As part of this system, two 765/400 kV grid substations are already operational at Angul and Sundargarh, while two more 765/400 kV grid stations are under construction at Gopalpur and Paradip. In addition, plans are underway to construct three more 765/400 kV substations at Kolabira, Duburi and Betakholi near Athagarh.
The meeting further revealed that Odisha currently has five 400 kV grid substations, while four additional 400 kV grid substations are under construction. Another two 400 kV grid substations are currently at the tender stage.
The Chief Minister stressed that strengthening the state’s power transmission infrastructure is essential not only for providing reliable electricity to consumers but also for meeting the growing energy requirements associated with industrial development and ensuring a robust power network across Odisha.
