Bhubaneswar, Aug 18 [UDN}:The guidelines for the ‘Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah Yojana’ have been issued by the Women and Child Development Department.
Under the scheme, eligible brides will receive financial assistance of ₹60,000 for marriage. Out of this amount, ₹45,000 will be directly transferred (DBT) to the bride’s bank account, while the remaining ₹15,000 will be provided to an NGO to support the marriage arrangements and related expenses.
An important provision of the scheme is that women interested in remarriage will also be eligible to benefit from the initiative, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.
The scheme will remain operational for five years, from 2025 to 2030, with the objective of providing financial support and dignity to women from eligible families during marriage and remarriage.
The Women and Child Development Department has formally issued a notification regarding the implementation and guidelines of the scheme.
