Nationwide Drug-Free India Campaign Highlights Need for Collective Action to Prevent Drug Abuse and Build a Healthier Society

Nabarangpur, Aug 19 [UDN}:: A Drug-Free India Campaign programme was organised today at Bhairab Higher Secondary School in Dabugaon, Nabarangpur district.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of the school’s Principal, Ramesh Chandra Nahak. Chief guest Swati Sister, in-charge of the Dabugaon branch of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, along with Alekh Bhai, Naveen Bhai, Pinky Sister, Saraswati Sister, Padmini Sister, Rani Sister and lecturer Shiva Prasad Sahu, among others, attended the programme.
The speakers addressed the students in detail about the importance of staying away from intoxicating substances and advised them not to consume drugs or other addictive substances. They highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse and cited examples of people who had suffered from various diseases or lost their lives in accidents as a result of addiction.
The students were advised to lead a healthy and disease-free life by staying away from intoxicants. They also took a pledge to remain drug-free themselves, spread the message of de-addiction in their surroundings, refrain from substance abuse and contribute towards making India drug-free.
A similar programme was also organised under the direct supervision of Adarsha Vidyalaya Principal Subrat Samantaray and Government (New) Panchayat High School Headmaster Krushna Chandra Patra.
The main objective of the Drug-Free India Campaign is to ensure that people across the country stay away from addiction and lead healthy and disease-free lives.
