Bhubaneswar, Aug. 20 (UDN): The Odisha government has decided to hold Cabinet meetings twice a month as part of an effort to accelerate policy decisions and ensure faster implementation of approved proposals.

Odisha Cabinet To Meet Twice A Month To Fast-Track Key Decisions

The decision is aimed at making the Cabinet process more systematic, reducing delays in placing important proposals and improving coordination among administrative departments.

Departments Asked To Prepare Proposals Early

All government departments have been directed to prepare Cabinet proposals well in advance and submit Cabinet notes to the Chief Secretary ahead of the scheduled meetings.

The advance submission will allow sufficient time for scrutiny and examination of proposals before they are placed before the Cabinet for consideration.

The directives were discussed during a meeting of department secretaries held at Kharavela Bhawan on August 4 under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

Focus On Timely Implementation

The government has also emphasised that Cabinet decisions must be followed by timely action. Departments have been asked to regularly review the progress of approved decisions and ensure that projects and policy measures are implemented within stipulated timelines.

Officials have been instructed to identify delays and take corrective measures wherever required.

The move is expected to strengthen coordination among departments and make the government’s decision-making mechanism more responsive.

By increasing the frequency of Cabinet meetings and tightening the monitoring of approved decisions, the Odisha government aims to ensure that key policy decisions are translated into action without unnecessary delays.
