DGP Disc Award Conferred on Nabarangpur Police Officer for Outstanding Service

Nabarangpur, Aug 21 [UDN}: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania presented the prestigious DGP Disc Medal and Certificate of Appreciation to Nabarangpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sambit Kumar Behera for his outstanding service and commendable performance in the field of policing.
The award was presented during a special ceremony held at Police Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, recognizing Behera’s dedicated service, professional conduct and contribution to policing.
Sambit Kumar Behera began his career in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), where he served as a Sub-Inspector from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, he joined the Odisha Police after completing his tenure with the central force.
Following his training, he began his Odisha Police career as a Sub-Inspector at Umerkote Police Station during 2010–11. In 2012, he was transferred to Jharigaon Police Station and subsequently served in different police stations in the region.
Between 2017 and 2023, Behera served in various police stations across Koraput district. During this period, he was promoted to the rank of Inspector and served as the Officer-in-Charge of several important police stations, including Sunabeda, Semiliguda, Damanjodi and Jeypore.
He is currently serving as the Officer-in-Charge of Nabarangpur Police Station. The DGP Disc award is being viewed as recognition of his long-standing commitment, professional dedication and exemplary service to the Odisha Police.
