Boudh, Aug. 21 (UDN): Panic gripped a family in Adenigarh village under Harbhanga block of Boudh district after an eight-foot-long python entered their house and swallowed a chicken from a coop.

The incident reportedly occurred at night when the snake entered the premises in search of food. After consuming the chicken, the python was unable to leave and remained inside the house, alarming the family members.

Snake Helpline alerted

On spotting the large reptile, the family immediately contacted the Snake Helpline and sought assistance. A rescue team soon reached the house and carefully located the python.

The rescuers carried out the operation with caution, ensuring that neither the snake nor the residents were harmed.

After a careful effort, the eight-foot reptile was successfully captured and removed from the residential premises.

The incident created a stir among local residents, while the safe rescue once again highlighted the importance of seeking assistance from trained snake rescuers rather than attempting to handle such reptiles themselves.
