Bhubaneswar, Aug 28 [UDN}:A fresh low-pressure system is once again likely to develop over the region, raising concerns about another spell of heavy rainfall across Odisha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the possibility of significant rain as the new weather system approaches, prompting renewed concern among residents, farmers, and local administrations.
Northern and coastal Odisha are already facing severe waterlogging following continuous and intense rainfall over the past several days. Large stretches of agricultural land have remained submerged, leaving paddy fields and other standing crops under water. The situation has created serious difficulties for farmers, particularly in low-lying areas where excess water has accumulated in farmlands and drainage has become increasingly difficult.
The prospect of another low-pressure system and further heavy rainfall has added to the worries of farmers who are already struggling with the impact of the ongoing wet conditions.
