Nabarangpur, Sept 3 [UDN}:: During his visit to various parts of Nabarangpur district, Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi first visited the local branch of the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at Dabugaon.
On his arrival, the centre’s coordinator, Swati Sister, along with other service-oriented sisters and brothers, warmly welcomed the MP. As part of the Raksha Bandhan celebration, the Brahma Kumari sisters tied sacred rakhis on the wrists of the MP and other members of his entourage. They also offered sweets and presented them with spiritual gifts from the institution.
Along with MP Balabhadra Majhi, BJP district secretary J. Rajasekhar Rao, Papadahandi MP representative Somnath Pujari, BJP Block Kisan Morcha president G. Kiran Kumar, Bhaskar Panigrahi and others were present. The Brahma Kumari sisters also tied rakhis on their wrists, offered sweets and presented spiritual gifts.
The Brahma Kumari centre has reportedly constructed its temple with the generous support and cooperation of its service-oriented members. However, the members informed the MP about the need for additional accommodation and other infrastructure at the premises. Taking note of their request, MP Balabhadra Majhi expressed his support and promised to provide ₹10 lakh for the temple and its development. His assurance brought happiness among the sisters and brothers associated with the centre.
Later, the MP proceeded to the renowned Baba Jhadakeswar Shiva Temple, a prominent Shaivite shrine in Nabarangpur district. After offering prayers at the temple, he held a detailed discussion with members of the temple committee regarding various development and infrastructure requirements.
During the discussion, the committee highlighted the need for facilities such as bathing areas and toilets for devotees in the vicinity of the temple. The development of the Parvati Temple was also discussed. MP Majhi asked committee secretary Debaraj Patra to prepare and submit a detailed list of the requirements of the temple so that the necessary steps could be taken.
The MP further promised ₹50 lakh for the development of the temple, expressing his commitment to improving facilities for devotees and supporting the overall development of the religious site.
Temple treasurer G. Sai Raju, former Chacharaguda Sarpanch Dharmananda Nayak, Jayanta Patra, Mohan Singh Gond, Padmalochan Majhi, Uttam Pradhan, Trinath Pandey, Bhagirathi Majhi and a large number of devotees were present during the visit and discussions.
At the end of his tour, MP Balabhadra Majhi visited the residence of G. Gopalakrishna Rao of Dabugaon and met his family. The MP had been expected to attend the marriage ceremony of Rao’s son scheduled for September 3. However, due to the scheduled inauguration of the Malkangiri–Bhubaneswar flight service on the same day, the MP informed the family that he would be unable to attend the wedding as he would be present in Malkangiri for the inaugural programme.
The MP’s visit and interaction with the family created a warm and cordial atmosphere. His engagements during the tour reflected a combination of participation in the Raksha Bandhan celebrations, religious observance, discussions on local infrastructure development and interaction with residents and community members.
