Koraput Administration Strengthens Inter-Departmental Coordination to Curb Illegal Narcotics Activities

Koraput ,Sept 5 [UDN}: A meeting of the District-Level Narcotics Coordination Centre (NCORD) was held today under the chairmanship of the Koraput District Collector. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination among various departments and agencies to effectively prevent and control the illegal trafficking, distribution, and use of narcotic substances in the district.

During the meeting, discussions were held on enhancing cooperation among law enforcement agencies, the health department, district administration, and other concerned authorities to tackle drug-related activities. The participants emphasized the need for regular monitoring, timely sharing of information, strict enforcement of laws, and coordinated action against those involved in the illegal trade of narcotic substances.

The meeting also stressed the importance of creating greater awareness among the public, particularly young people and students, about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the serious health and social consequences associated with substance addiction. Authorities were urged to take preventive measures and strengthen community-level interventions to curb the growing threat of narcotics.

The District Administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring effective implementation of measures for drug prevention, enforcement, rehabilitation, and public awareness, with coordinated efforts by all stakeholders to make Koraput a safer and healthier district.
