Two Dedicated Social Workers, Jagannath Mahapatra and Debendra Pradhan, Recognised with ‘Utkal Abha’ Award

Nabarangpur: Sept 8 [UDN}:A Guru Puja programme was organised at the Tripti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur on the occasion of the annual celebration of Utkal Parishad, Nabarangpur.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of the organisation’s President, Vijay Kumar Choudhury. Nabarangpur Sub-Collector Shri Prakash Chandra Mishra attended the event as the Chief Guest. The organisation’s Chief Adviser and noted social worker, Shri Jagannath Mahapatra, attended as the Distinguished Guest. Borigumma Block Development Officer Shri Sukanta Pattnaik joined as the Chief Speaker, while senior teacher Shri Ramesh Bisoyi attended as the Guest of Honour.

The organisational secretary, Professor Akhil Kumar Bhatt, delivered the welcome address and coordinated the programme. Jagannath Behera introduced the guests, while All India Radio artiste Suresh Mishra presented a Guru Vandana.

The programme was organised on the birth anniversary of former President of India and renowned teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. On this occasion, retired teachers from different blocks of Nabarangpur district were felicitated in recognition of their valuable contribution to the field of education.

At the outset of the annual celebration, distinguished social workers Shri Jagannath Mahapatra and Shri Debendra Pradhan were honoured with the prestigious ‘Utkal Abha’ Award by the guests.

Thereafter, Shri Narayan Panda, Vijay Kumar Choudhury, Jemamani Bisoyi, M. Apalswami, Niranjan Mishra, Jagadish Chandra Tripathy, Purna Chandra Padhi, Trinath Pattnaik, Ramakanta Das, Sarat Chandra Dash, Sahadev Parida, Vijay Kumar Pattnaik, Ramesh Bisoyi, Gopinath Mohanty and several others were honoured and felicitated with the Guru Samman 2026.

The Vice-President of the organisation, Smt. Prabhasini Mohanty, presented the annual report and coordinated the felicitation ceremony. Joint Secretary Shri Gopal Panigrahi proposed the vote of thanks.

All office-bearers of the organisation, along with teachers and intellectuals from the town, participated in the programme and contributed to its successful organisation.
