Bhubaneswar, Sept 15 [UDN}:BNS Section 163 has been imposed across the Athagarh Panchayat Samiti area ahead of the upcoming Panchayat Samiti meeting. As a precautionary measure, restrictions have been enforced within a 700-metre radius of the Panchayat Samiti office to prevent any untoward incident.
The administration has deployed a strong security force in the area, including two DSPs, four inspectors and four platoons of police personnel. The decision comes in view of the tense situation witnessed during the previous Panchayat Samiti meeting, when members of the ruling and opposition groups reportedly came face-to-face, leading to a confrontation.
During the earlier incident, four to five police personnel were injured while attempting to control the situation. In view of the previous clash and the possibility of tension during the upcoming meeting, the administration has taken precautionary security measures and imposed restrictions under BNS Section 163.
