ANMI Marks 10th IOSCO World Investor Week with ‘Smart Investing in 2026’ Seminar at NSE

Mumbai, Oct 07, 2026: The Association of National Exchanges Members of India (ANMI) today marked the 10th edition of IOSCO World Investor Week (WIW) with an investor awareness seminar at the NSE Auditorium, Mumbai, under the theme “Samajh Se Investing Simple.”

The seminar, “SMART INVESTING IN 2026 – What Every Investor Should Know Before Entering the Market,” brought together senior representatives from SEBI and NSE, market professionals, educators and students to promote greater awareness of the securities market and investor protection.

The programme was attended by Amit Pradhan, Executive Director, SEBI, as Chief Guest; Piyush Chourasia, Chief Regulatory Officer, NSE, as Guest of Honour; and Deepti Aggarwal, Chief General Manager, SEBI.

Amit Pradhan, Executive Director, SEBI, said:

“Investor education and protection are integral to a strong securities market. As participation grows, particularly among young investors, it is important to understand the products, risks and safeguards available. Initiatives such as World Investor Week provide an important platform to take these messages directly to investors and students.”

Speaking on the occasion, Kamlesh Shroff, National President, ANMI, said:

“I have seen the market evolve from open-outcry trading to one-click investing. Technology has changed, but the fundamentals of investing have not. Understand before you invest, choose regulated products, start early and stay invested, and beware of investment frauds.”

Mr. Shroff also emphasised the importance of knowledge, discipline and long-term compounding, particularly for young investors.

“Earlier, you knew the person. Today, you must verify the platform.”

The programme also featured Dr. V. Aditya Srinivas, Professor of Economics and Stocks at Kohinoor Management School (KMS), Mumbai, who shared insights on the investment landscape and considerations for investors in 2026.

The initiative reflects ANMI’s continued commitment to investor awareness and market education, particularly among young and first-time investors.
