Bhubaneswar:Oct 9 [UDN}: Odisha witnessed the launch of the All India Ladies Open Golf Tournament, organised by the FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar Chapter, along with the inauguration of the special ‘FLO Handloom and Handicraft Bazaar’ at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club.
Odisha Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan inaugurated both initiatives and described the occasion as a matter of great privilege. The event marks the first time that the women’s golf tournament has been organised in Odisha, bringing together sports, women’s empowerment, tourism, and the state’s rich handloom and handicraft traditions.
The accompanying FLO Handloom and Handicraft Bazaar provides a platform to showcase Odisha’s traditional craftsmanship and products while creating opportunities for artisans and women entrepreneurs. The initiative seeks to connect sporting activities with the promotion of Odisha’s distinctive art, culture and tourism potential.
The minister highlighted the significance of bringing women’s empowerment, sports, tourism, handloom and handicrafts onto a common platform, describing the initiative as a noteworthy step towards promoting Odisha’s cultural heritage and creating greater visibility for women in different fields.
