Malkangiri District Education Officer Chittaranjan Panigrahi Launches Distribution of Updated Textbooks for Classes I–VIII

Malkangiri,Oct 27 [UDN}:    The distribution of revised and error-free textbooks has officially commenced in government and government-aided primary and upper-primary schools across Odisha’s Malkangiri district, following the instructions of the State School and Mass Education Department. The initiative aims to ensure that students from Class I to Class VIII have access to updated textbooks containing revised and corrected educational content during the current academic year.

According to information received from the district, the required textbooks were supplied to the district-level depot by the Directorate of Textbook Printing and Distribution, Odisha. Following their arrival, the office of the District Project Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, and the District Education Officer expedited the distribution process to all seven blocks of Malkangiri district to ensure that the books reach schools without unnecessary delays.

The formal launch of the textbook distribution programme took place at the Government Primary School in Ashirbad Colony within the Malkangiri Municipality area. District Education Officer Chittaranjan Panigrahi was personally present at the school and distributed the newly revised textbooks among primary school students, marking the beginning of the district-wide distribution drive.

Special emphasis has been placed on ensuring that textbooks reach schools situated in remote, inaccessible and border areas of the district. The authorities have instructed all Block Education Officers and Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators to make the necessary arrangements for the smooth transportation and timely delivery of textbooks from block-level distribution points to individual schools.

Particular attention is being given to schools located in Swabhiman Anchal and the blocks of Chitrakonda, Mathili, Kalimela, Podia, Khairput and Korukonda, including educational institutions situated in the district’s farthest and most difficult-to-reach locations. The administration has stressed that no student should be deprived of textbooks because of geographical barriers or transportation difficulties.

Under the initiative, students from Class I to Class VIII will have the opportunity to study from new and improved textbooks featuring revised content and corrections to previously identified subject-related errors. The changes are expected to make classroom teaching and learning easier, clearer and more effective for both teachers and students.

The timely distribution of revised textbooks is an important step towards strengthening the quality of school education and ensuring that children across the district receive appropriate learning materials. By coordinating the supply of books at the district, block and cluster levels, the education department is seeking to make the distribution process more efficient and inclusive, particularly for children studying in remote tribal and rural communities.

The initiative has generated satisfaction among parents, educationists and intellectuals in the district, who have welcomed the government’s timely efforts to provide students with corrected and updated educational materials. The administration’s focus remains on completing the distribution process smoothly and ensuring that every eligible student receives the necessary textbooks to continue their studies effectively during the current academic year.
