Bhubaneswar, Oct 30 (UDN): The Odisha State Cabinet has approved the transfer of land for the construction of the Office of the Superintendent of Post Offices, along with an Aadhaar Centre and a Passport Seva Kendra, in Rairangpur.
As part of the decision, the Cabinet has approved the waiver of land premium and associated charges amounting to ₹3.56 crore, paving the way for the development of these essential public service facilities in the region.
The initiative is expected to significantly improve access to postal services, Aadhaar-related facilities and passport services for residents of Rairangpur and surrounding areas. The decision is particularly important for people living in rural and tribal-dominated regions, who often face difficulties travelling long distances to access essential government services.
With the establishment of these facilities, local residents are expected to benefit from more convenient and accessible services, reducing the need for frequent travel to distant locations for postal work, Aadhaar-related requirements and passport-related formalities.
The Cabinet’s approval reflects the state’s focus on strengthening public service infrastructure and ensuring that essential citizen services reach people in remote, rural and tribal areas. The proposed facilities in Rairangpur are expected to make the delivery of these services more efficient, accessible and convenient for the local population.
