As part of the public awareness campaign, announcements through public address systems and awareness activities are being conducted in vulnerable and low-lying areas across the district. Special attention is being given to people living in kutcha houses and settlements located at the foothills of hills and mountains.
Field-level officials and personnel are conducting door-to-door visits to educate residents about necessary safety precautions, identify vulnerable families and assist them in shifting to safer locations whenever required.
The administration has also directed officials to remain fully prepared in accordance with the previously formulated evacuation plans and vulnerability assessments. Special arrangements are being made for pregnant women whose expected delivery dates fall within the next two weeks. They are being shifted to nearby healthcare facilities, where adequate arrangements for food, safe drinking water, blankets and other essential necessities are being ensured.
The district administration has further instructed officials to keep all designated cyclone shelters and temporary relief centres fully operational. Adequate arrangements must be made at these facilities for safe drinking water, food and other essential supplies. Officials have also been directed to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness at the shelters and arrange blankets locally according to requirements.
All field-level officers and concerned departments have been instructed to keep the existing evacuation plans active, maintain close coordination with one another and remain prepared to respond immediately to any emergency situation.
The district administration has appealed to residents living in low-lying areas, kutcha houses and other vulnerable locations to remain alert, strictly follow official weather warnings and safety advisories, and extend full cooperation to administrative personnel during evacuation whenever necessary.
